TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The following is intended to be a useful guide for hardware required to run Dynamics GP. Consideration needs to be given to other applications running on the same machines and please bear in mind that ‘good’ performance is subjective. Please do not hesitate to ask us for further details, or to discuss your existing specification of machine and its suitability. This information is generic and has not been tailored with any customer or site requirements in mind.

Additional Notes

  1. Office 2000, Office XP and Office 2003 have been tested and are supported with Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0. Microsoft Office Outlook is required for the Outlook area to display on the home page which is enabled by default. For home page metrics to be displayed on your home page, you must have Office Web Components installed on your local machine.
  2. Adobe 6.0 and Adobe 7.0 have been tested and are supported with Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0.
  3. The Microsoft Dynamics GP client or server application install is not compiled for a 64-bit operating system, therefore by default the client or server application install will not work properly on any Windows 64-bit operating system running in 64-bit mode. This includes the new x64 Windows 2003 and Windows XP operating systems. The Microsoft SQL Server databases can be housed on a 64-bit operating system. If you want the Microsoft Dynamics GP client or server application install on your Windows 64-bit Server, you need to create a 32-bit ODBC DSN.
  4. Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 has not been tested with VMWare, Virtual Server or any virtual machine technology; therefore, Microsoft Business Solutions-Great Plains is not supported in any virtual machine environment.
