April 2007 - Synesis CEO, Mushi Bhuiyan gives speech on information flow at the United Nations.
On April 4th, at a talk hosted by Ambassador Dr. Hamid Al Bayati, permanent representative of Iraq to the United Nations, Synesis CEO, Mushi Bhuiyan was invited to speak about information systems at the United Nations delegations meeting. He discussed the day to day process of how information flows at the U.N. and about how technology can reduce the complexity of the gathering of information.
Mr. Bhuiyan spoke about the keys ways in which IT can help improve the information flow. Specifically, he talked about the software SOO (Synesis Office Organizer). This software manages all the information in one location and can track all the relevant information that relates to a document, such as who can and who cannot review it. He hopes that when applied to the United Nations, this software can help streamline each member nation's projects. It has the ability to customize each nation's own process through the software, but at the same time keep track of all the basic information like who is involved, deadline, resources, budget, etc.
Mr. Bhuiyan also discussed how technology can help secure sensitive information. Attendees of the talk were particularly interested in Synesis' technology which protects information on stolen laptops and other data devices. "You can take a laptop and with one push of the button from my cell phone I can destroy everything, all the information from the laptop without compromising the security," Mr. Bhuiyan said. "If the laptop goes into the wrong hands, they can't even start the computer. The machine, hard drive, everything is dead."
